God’s Spirit blows wherever it wishes.
You hear its sound, but you don’t know where it comes from or where it is going.
It’s the same with everyone who is born of the Spirit.

John 3:8

What if the Holy Spirit isn’t just a quiet dove or a gentle breeze, but something wild and unpredictable and fully alive?

This book comes out of my own questions and wrestling. I’ve spent a lot of time around church talk about the Spirit, and honestly, it can feel a little too safe sometimes. But in Celtic Christianity, the Spirit is often symbolized by a Wild Goose. Not something you can cage or tame. Loud, messy, free. That image grabbed hold of me and wouldn’t let go.

In these pages, I share some of what I’ve been learning.  You’ll meet Finn, a kid chasing after a goose, and hopefully see a little of your own story in his. You’ll hear echoes of the Trinity, feel the rush of wind and fire, and maybe recognize the Spirit’s movement in your own life too.

This isn’t a textbook or a how-to guide. It’s more like sitting down with a friend to talk about where God’s been showing up and what it means to be led by something we don’t always understand. Every story is rooted in the idea that the Holy Spirit is still speaking and still stirring something new.

So if you’ve ever felt like there has to be more to the Spirit than what you’ve been told, maybe this is an invitation to follow the Wild Goose for yourself.

What might it look like to stop trying to control the Spirit and start paying attention?

What would it mean to let yourself be led somewhere unexpected, somewhere beautiful, somewhere risky?

Part devotional, travelogue, memoir, and theological reflection; this work invites us to soar with the Wild Goose into the beautiful and risky unknown of faith?
